A-85 opened officialy on December 9th 2005. The first section to
be designated as such is the 12,8 kilometres part of ex-R-185 between A-20 and Saint-Antonin. New interchanges have been built
at Boulevard Industriel (formerly Route de la Plaine), Rang 1 and Rue Principale. See the exit list below.
A Rivière-du-Loup bypass is currently under construction. Boulevard Industriel will be extended eastward for better movments
between A-20 east of Rivière-du-Loup and A-85 south of the city, due to the configuration of the interchange at the A-20/A-85
junction.
Other sections of route 185 will see blue autoroute shields rise ; Notre-Dame-du-Lac and Dégelis sections are to be identified
as A-85 soon.
Note that Route 185 is a murdereous route and its promotion
as a freeway will bring a high security level.
